Richmond is a great place to enjoy during the day but for many, the real attractions are to be found at night when a different set of revelers come alive and descend on the city to make merry. The downtown area has a bustling business district and the city is also home to several universities including Virginia Commonwealth University, so there is no shortage of younger people looking for fun on a low budget or those with money to burn. Richmond has in turn, developed to offer entertainment and relief for everyone and caters for all tastes and budgets.
Carytown and the Fan are great places to wander in the evening with lively bars, clubs and some fantastic places to eat. Not only are these typically student haunts but you find the more well heeled having fun here too because of the atmosphere and ambiance created by so many people looking to enjoy a good time. The popularity of the area is further enhanced with low crime making it safe to enjoy the city by night and finding a place to park is very easy with many of the city lots turned over to temporary parking areas which are well lit and supervised; they cost a few bucks (between $5 and $8 for the evening) to park but this allows you to access the rest of the district on foot.

Virginia is a famous state for tourists because of its natural setting and various seasonal activities. Aside from several natural wonders, it showcases amusement parks and historic sites. When considering a vacation in this region, it has several hotels you and your family will love.
Virginia was referred to Queen Elizabeth I simply because she was regarded as the Virgin Queen. Virginia is an American State situated along the Atlantic Ocean of Southern U.S. it is also called the Old Diamond and sometimes the Mother of Presidents because it is noted as the birthplace of 8 United States presidents.
The capital of Virginia is Richmond. Virginia is shaped by the Chesapeake Bay and the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is home to the state's fauna and flora. Most of its rivers flow through the Chesapeake Bay including York, James, the Rappahannock and the Potomac. Geologically and geographically, the state is separated into some regions from east to the west by the Cumberland Plateau, Ridge and Valley, Blue Ridge Mountains, Tidewater and Piedmont.
Pack your bags and jump in the car and head to Richmond, Virginia. It will be worth the trip if all you do is visit the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. The entire Botanical Garden is accessible, but the Children's Garden is designed beautifully for children of differing abilities. The designers of the garden used Universal Design principals to create a play environment where every child can participate in the entire experience.
According to the Lewish Ginter website "Diversity is the main theme of this garden - diversity of environments, ecosystems, plants, adaptation and human culture." To ensure that everyone can learn through their own learn styles the staff of the Children's Garden offer self-directed, informal learning and organized education programs.
Here is what you can expect to experience while exploring the 1.5 acre Children's Garden:
1. Climb a 100 year old tree.
2. Visit and play in multiple play houses designed and landscaped from countries around the world.
3. Get wet in the water spray park (during the summer)
4. Learn about farming at the Farm Garden where the produce that is harvested is donated to the local food back.
